Coaching For PHysicians

How coaching can help

Despite investing years of our lives and hundreds of thousand of dollars into becoming physicians, when we finally get there, so many of us feel a tremendous let down by the reality we encounter. We don’t feel the way we expected we would but rather find that helplessness, overwhelm and frustration fill our days.

Medical school and residency do a good job of preparing us for the technical practice of medicine. But what we don’t learn is how to navigate what often comes with it: stress, debt, burnout, and strained personal relationships. Although physician culture is changing self-sacrifice is still the norm.

As your coach I meet you exactly where you are while also believing in your ability to create anything you want. I have the belief that you have all of the answers and nothing is “broken” and walk side by side with you through the process.

Empowerment

There are many things in life beyond our control. We have all experienced this intensely during the pandemic. We often think that these circumstances are creating our feelings. However, this gives all of our power away. We have tremendous agency when we learn how our brains work and learn how to help them work for us rather than against us. I help you clarify where you have control and can have the biggest impact in your experience.

Coaching for burnout

Burnout is an organizational problem that is experienced on a very personal level. While much of my career is dedicated to organizational change, that work is slow and you don’t have to wait. I also believe that if every individual physician connects with their power and creates the life they want the system will be forced to change more rapidly.
